It's wonderful to see beetles again after such a long time without them! Lorna and I saw these two on a trip to Bunnahabhain yesterday (where we also collected caterpillars - hurray!)

I really love green tiger beetles. Brilliantly camouflaged on the leaves, but very easy to pick out on a path for example. Such a brilliantly bright green! I look forward to hearing the adventures of the caterpillars. I still remember helping to collect them last year as a fond memory.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear it! It's fascinating watching the caterpillars as they grow. Watching them chrysalise last year was a highlight. There also appeared to be a single duller tiger beetle, presumably the female.
