Mary McGregor from the RSPB handed in this large mermaid's purse on Monday. I found this brilliant website with a key for identifying mermaid's purses and think this is the egg case of a Blonde Ray. It is one of the largest egg cases likely to be found on British shores. Our specimen measured approx 200 mm x 90 mm with the horns and 130 mm x 90 mm without them.A great find, thanks Mary (or whoever found it!)
