Gall wasp

I suspect these galls, found near Ballygrant, are the work of gall wasps of some kind - Carl

  1. Marble Galls - from Andricus kollari, just about the commonest such species which nearly always lays its eggs on oak, so was this an oak sapling, it isn't obvious from the photo?
