Bluebells - Wild and Spanish

Wild Bluebells.  These are the good guys

I believe these are Spanish bluebells - garden escapes that hybridise with the native stocks.  Bad news....  Port Charlotte

Spanish bluebell - Hyacinthoides hispanica

These are probably the introduced Spanish bluebell - Hyacinthoides hispanica.  These were pictured on the edge of Bridgend Woods, but I have noticed others along the roadside outside Port Charlotte.  I understand that there is some concern about these introductions hybridising with our native bluebells.  I have no idea whether this is considered to be an issue on Islay.  These may indeed actually be hybrids...  - Carl
