Took a walk along side the Shorefield this morning and took some general shots of the range of different micro-habitats that it contains....
The land is a long strip bordered on one side by the road, on the other by the sea. It extends as far as the wall north of the war memorial and then north from there to the first fence.
This is an area of verdant bog - grazed by Grey-lag geese in the winter it is a blaze of Kingcups in the spring (left)
There are some small Phragmites reed beds (right)
Some patches of gorse (left)
And some areas of very rough grassland (right)
Some of the wall adjacent to the road is in very poor condition and will have to be supplemented with stobs and rails.
