Purple Sandpipers (Calidris maritima) at Bruichladdich






Lovely light this afternoon - and there were around a dozen Purple Sandpipers being their usual obliging selves along with good numbers of Ringed Plover and Turnstones down in front of the distillery.  This is an excellent place to find what can be quite an elusive wader.  This stretch of shoreline has to be one of the best on Islay for birdwatching, which is saying something...
