Green Saw Fly - Rhogogastrus viridis

I wsas a bit disappointed by the name of this beastie when I identified it because it looks too beautiful for such a violent name.We saw it at Killinallan yesterday. Apparently the female uses her saw-like ovipositor (egg laying tube) to cut into plants where she lays her eggs. The larvae are very similar to caterpillars.
