Does anybody know what this is?



Because I have not got a clue...  Some sort of Lichen?  A funghi?  It is growing on a mossy log next to the Sorn....

    Probably wrong, but maybe a pointer in the right direction!

  2. It's a lichen, very probably Peltigera membranacea. There are several in the genus, but this one has the tiny downward projecting strands which act like roots - called rhizinae
