The hurricane struck the shores of Islay at around 6am on Tuesday 3rd January causing significnat amounts of damage to property. I have added these pictures for the record. most of which are courtesy of Alison Mactaggart.
Surprised that the Christmas tree pretty much survived it (only the top looks slightly bent) considering all the other damage, or was that put up again?
Hi Armin - I think it survived - amazing really... Most of the Christmas trees on the Rhinns were taken down the night before - which turned out to be a very wise move. The tree in Bowmore stayed up too though - although it was at a rather odd angle the following day... Cheers - Carl
