Garden Tiger Moth


Found a lovely Garden Tiger moth whilst trying in vain to make the Visitor Centre sign stand up in the hurricane this morning. Who needs a moth trap? Picture from Wikipedia

    You can always tell someone who hasn't been on Islay very long if he thinks today's bit of a breeze is a "hurricane"!!

    ....It's also highly unusual to see the Garden Tiger display like that - looks uncannily like the Victorian art of lepidoptra pinning!
